Privacy, in plain English

Pick Your Beef is run by Joss Froggatt for the Search Beef podcast (UK). It exists to find guests for the show. Here's what we keep and why.

What we collect

• Your character: name, email, LinkedIn URL, company, job title, team, seniority, years in search, where you work, timezone, your drink and avatar choices.
• Your answers: stances, 🔥 and 🚫 picks, hot takes, and any questions you pitch.
• Green room details: availability, people you can't be paired with, kit, how to credit you, your headshot and your consent choices.

Why

To pair you with someone who disagrees with you and book you on the show. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. We use your email only to sign you in and, if you tick the box, to tell you about new questions and future episodes.

Who sees it

Only Joss. Other players never see your email, company or answers. If you press Share, your player card (name, team, seniority, drink) and top takes become viewable by anyone with the link. Your email and company never do.

We use Supabase (database and sign-in, hosted in London), Netlify (website hosting) and Resend (sign-in emails) to run the app. They process data on our behalf.

How long

Until you delete it, or 2 years after you last played, whichever comes first. If you appear in a published episode, we keep the name and credit you gave us for that episode.

Your rights

You can see, change or delete your data at any time. Edit your answers and character in the app, or email searchbeef@gmail.com and we'll sort it. You can also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).
